An Anti-Drug Awareness Rally was held on 08 July 2026, organized by the college to create awareness among students and the public about the harmful effects of drug abuse and the importance of leading a healthy, drug-free life. The rally witnessed enthusiastic participation from students, faculty members, NSS volunteers, and members of the public. The programme was presided over by Mr. K. Mohan, MLA, Panruti, and Mr. R. Ragupathy, DSP, Panruti, who served as the Chief Guests. In their addresses, they highlighted the growing menace of drug abuse among youth and emphasized the importance of awareness, self-discipline, and collective responsibility in building a drug-free society. They urged students to stay away from harmful substances and to become ambassadors of positive change in their communities. The programme was felicitated by our Secretary, Sr. A. Avila Therese, SAT, who appreciated the efforts of the organizers and encouraged students to uphold moral values, adopt healthy lifestyles, and actively participate in social awareness initiatives. Our Principal, Rev. Sr. P. Amalorpavam, SAT, welcomed the gathering and reaffirmed the institution's commitment to promoting discipline, good health, and social responsibility among students. She encouraged the participants to spread awareness about the dangers of drug abuse and to inspire others to lead a healthy and responsible life. The rally was flagged off by the dignitaries, and the participants marched through the nearby streets carrying placards and banners displaying messages such as "Say No to Drugs," "Drug-Free Youth, Bright Future," and "Choose Life, Not Drugs." The students actively created awareness among the public by raising slogans and distributing informative messages on the harmful effects of drug addiction. The rally concluded with a strong pledge by the participants to support the fight against drug abuse and contribute towards building a healthy, safe, and drug-free society. The programme ended with a Vote of Thanks, expressing sincere gratitude to the Chief Guests, Secretary, Principal, faculty members, NSS volunteers, student participants, and the organizing committee for their valuable support in making the Anti-Drug Awareness Rally a meaningful and successful event.
