About the Department
Department Profile
The department of Electronics & Communication Engineering was established in the year 2002 with 60 seats. It has its core strength in the domain of electronics and communication, and aims to impart sound knowledge and awareness in the latest developments in the field of electronics & communication. Having five well equipped laboratories as described in the scheme. We are qualified by ISO 9001:2018 certification. The department has well experienced and dedicated faculty members who are passionate towards moulding the younger generation. The students have proved themselves by getting placed in companies like Nokia Networks & Solutions Pvt. Ltd., Mitsuba Pvt. Ltd., UCAL Fuel System Pvt. Ltd., Castwel Auto Parts Pvt. Ltd., Gemini Communication & Integra Software etc.
The students have access to well-equipped, state-of-the-art laboratories. The department maintains an excellent interaction with the IT industry and organises regular guest lectures by experts, industrial visits, internships, and stands for industry–Institute collaboration.

Department Laboratories
5 Labs
This lab deals with various electronic techniques and serves as a platform for understanding the operating principles of active and passive components, basic DC power supply through experiments and to study their characteristics. Logic gates, Flip-flops are constructed by students and tested using truth tables. Specially designed PLC operates under industrial environments (conveyor control, timer, lift control).
Students are given experiments involving working of antennas, filters and microphones, designing modulation and demodulation using ASK, PSK, FSK, PWM, PPM, and TDM. In-depth knowledge of optical analog link, optical digital link and voice link. Students learn to install DTH with TV demonstration. P-SPICE and Multisim software are used for simulation.
Students learn to program in VHDL, C, and assembly language. Study of FPGA Spartan kit and ARM processor kit. Training is given to design and develop various combinational circuits, seven-segment displays, LEDs and interfacing peripherals. Students synthesize using Xilinx ISE software and Keil Software.
This lab provides students a platform to know about various indicators, switches, SMPS, motherboards and disk drives used in computers. Students gain practical knowledge on installation of devices like printer, scanner, web camera and biometric devices. Training is given to assemble, check PC systems and laptops, and impart knowledge on networking, cabling, Internet connection and debugging network issues.
Students are trained in 8/16 bit microcontrollers. Individual training is given to each student by providing a separate microcontroller kit. Interfacing of various peripherals like stepper motor, DC motor, DAC, Traffic light, ADC and seven-segment as a development tool helps students carry out real-time experiments.

NAAN MUDHALVAN ONLINE CLASSES ON ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE TOOLS WERE CONDUCTED FOR SECOND YEAR ECE STUDENTS FROM 03.10.2023 TO 19.10.2023( 6 days). CLASSES ONLY ON TUESDAY AND THURSDAY. 3 Weeks this online course was conducted.
The six days programme on, Science and Technology Capacity building for Industrial needs was successfully conducted from 29-08-2023 to 31-08-2023 and 12-09-2023 to 14-09-2023 in two batches. The programme was supported by the Tamil Nadu State Council for Science and Technology Chennai, and organized by Annai Velankanni Polytechnic College, Panruti. The final year students from various Polytechnic Colleges are invited and they have participated in this programme. The total number of students who benefitted in the programme was around 300.

Mr.S.Ramkumar ,M.A. M.E,M.A(yoga), Assistant professor SKY YOGA act as a chief guest and gave a brief lecture on " A role of Electronics in Industry and Health Vitality" held on 19th March 2021.
The guest lecturer program was conducted by the department of ECE of our AVPTC-titled "basics of advanced deep learning IoT and insights on circuit design" on 27.04.2022.the resource persons are Rev.Sr.Dr.S.Anitha.SAT,HOD/ECE,St.Anne's college of engineering and technology panruti.All the staff and students were participated.
All the students of department ECE received their diplomas in which Mr. A.Joel Deena got the first place (two silver medals) as the first student of the department and the first student of the college.

To develop the department by giving the special skill oriented training to our students , CIICP programme were conducted on "Mobile Servicing" (Hardware & Software) training was given around 33 students.
Special trainings were given to students to develop students Personality, Self-motivation to mould their characters to come up in life. The programmes were conducted on 27th August 2019 for the Third year students focusing on interview skills.
